TS2log Prerequisites
1) Hardware
TS2log will work successfully on your PC with the minimal recommendations:
Number of users | Equipment for Windows 2003/2008/2012/2016 |
---|---|
3 - 5 | I5 or above 4 Go 1x CPU 2 GHZ |
10 | I5 or above 8 Go 1x CPU 2 GHZ |
25 | I7 ou Xeon 16 Go 1 CPU |
50 and above | I7 or Xeon SSD Disk dedicated to the system 32 Go Dual CPU |
Over 50 concurrent sessions, we recommend to use a farm of servers. Each server (physical or virtual ones) handling up to 50 concurrent users.
Comment: The type of hardware you need will mostly depend on what kind of resources the applications you wish to publish consume (CPU/memory/Disk). You might consider getting a server with SSD drives if you plan on using an application that accesses a database on your TS2log server as it will greatly enhance the performances.
2) Operating system
Your hardware must use one of the operating systems below:
- Windows XP Professional or Windows XP Home.
- Windows Vista Home Premium, Professional, Corporate or Ultimate Edition
- Windows 7 Home Premium, Professional, Corporate or Ultimate Edition
- Windows 8 Professional/8.1
- Windows 10
- Windows 2003 Server or 2003 SBS
- Windows 2008 Server or 2008 R2/SBS
- Windows 2012 Server or 2012 R2
- Windows 2016 Server
- Windows 2019 Server
32 and 64 bit versions are supported.
- If you install TS2log on a Windows 2003 to 2016, make sure the RDS or Terminal Services roles as well as the RDS Terminal Services licensing role are not installed before installing TS2log.
If these roles were present, remove them and reboot. - For any deskstop operating system, you will need to create local administrators users accounts in order to be able to connect remotely.
3) Network parameters
To use the remote access in HTML5 mode, you will need to install the Java component linked to the host device architecture (32 or 64 bit) from the www.java.com website.
If a web server is already on the host device (Apache, IIS Microsoft), it will be necessary to configure TS2log in order to use other ports than the default 80 HTTP and 443 HTTPS ports.
The TS2log server must have a fixed IP address.
Remote access (from outside)
- A DSL connection is recommended as well as a public IP address. Without a fixed public IP address, you should install a dynamic DNS service like http://DynDNS.org
- The communication RDP port (by default 3389) must be opened on your router but also in both ways on your firewall.
